DEVONPORT COUNCIL
The accounts of the Devonport Bor- ' ough Council, presented last night, ttere described as satisfactory, considering the difficult year and increasing fsts. Expenditure included £3753 on P.S. works and £3823 on the scheme for obtaining city water. General and special rate collections totalled 94 per cent of the rate struck, the highest figure for 17 years. Thw sum of £IOO ■was voted to the Auckland Metropolitan Patriotic Committee's 1942 AllPurposes Appeal.
