POSSESSION OF HOUSE
APPLICATION DISMISSED An application for possession of a nine-roomed house in Valley Road, Mount Eden, was made by the New Zealand Insurance Company, Limited (Mr. Spence) before Mr. Justice Fair yesterday. The application was contested by the tenant, Mrs. M. A. Stewart, supported by the Department of Labour (Mr. Scanlen), under the Fair Rents Act. Mr. Spence said the tenant had been in possession for about 10 vears and was given notice to quit fast year. She kept some boarders and the question was whether or not the premises were used principally for business reasons. Mrs. Stewart said a son and daughter were living with her, and another son came home periodicallv. She boarded two schoolgirls in one room. His Honor said he was satisfied the premises were not used mainly for business and the application was dismissed.
