NINETIETH BIRTHDAY
FAMILY'S WAR RECORD The 90th birthday of Mrs. Redfern, of Greenhithe, is celebrated today. Mrs. Redfern was born at Weston-, super-Mare and came to New Zealand at the age of 16 on the. Empress. After her .marriage in 1872, she resided at Russell, Paparoa, Thames and, for the past 43 years, has lived at Greenhithe, She had 10 children, six of whom are still living. There are 32 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Eight grandsons are at present serving with the forces. Her -youngest son was killed at Gallipoli and a grandson killed in Crete in this war. i
