PROSPECTS FOR SEASON Mr. F. H. Baker was re-elected chairman of the control board of the Auckland Football Association last evening. Mr. Baker said that, although the season ahead would be a difficult one, already there were signs among the clubs that football of a high standard would be played at Blandford Park. Mr. H G-ribble was appointed vice-chairman and Mr. W. H Harrison secretary-treasurer. It was agreed to stage a preliminary round of games on Saturday week, in an endeavour to assist clubs to find their personnel. The. asjou,rnpd. appupl meetings of both the association and the Junior Management Committee, will, take • place. on ■ Tuesday fortnight, when the question of competitive football will be discussed; It was therefore decided to close entries on that date and to commence the competitions proper on May 2. Sub-committees were appointed as follows: —Finance, Messrs. W. A, Cole, F. H. Baker, H. Gribble, D. A. Williams: advertising and publicity, Messrs. J. V. White. J. C. Sibbin. F. H. Baker; entertainment, the full board, with Mr. W. A. Cole as convener; grounds and fixtures, Mr. J. C. Sibbin; teams' steward, Mr, W. Walker; BlandfoM Park, Messrs. W. A. Cole. IF. H. Baker. A. E.
