INTER-SECTION GAMES COMPLETION OF TWO EVENTS Inter-section play in the Auckland Bow ing Centre* events of the annual Easter tow meat was commenced on the carlton C greens yesterday morfiing in fine weather, b on heavier greens than those experienced during the earlier stages of the Finality was reached in two of the events. In the main competition, the Easter Fours, the 18 teams which qualified from section play were reduced to four—W. A. Lancaster (Carlton), R. S. Higfiinbotbam (Ponsonby), L. Jury (Ponsonby) and W. Bremner (Auckland). This necessitates a semi-final and a final game, and play will be, resumed at the Carlton greens on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. The two final games in the Easter and intermediate fours will be played at two o'clock. The draw for the Easter Fours is:—Lancaster v. Higginbotham; Jury v. Bremner. The final game in the executive fours between the Carlton team skipped by S. Jenkm and the Balmoral four skipped by H. B. GOMsmith was an interesting one throughout. Carlton trailed behind and only Bot up to square the game at 10-all on the 14th head. It took the lead for the first time on the .next head by the aid of a single. From this point onward the Carlton four played better than Balmoral and went on to win by eight points. 20—17. the game ending on the 20th end. In the first-year players event the re Papapa team skipped by M. M. Wright, who was runner-up in the recent champion oi champions event for first-year players, was always ahead of Grey Lynn, and had no difficulty in winning. ' Morrinsville.—Two club tournaments were played at Morrinsville during the holidays, a threes and progressive pairs. The former event was won by a rink comprising J. Laurie. A. J. Shepherd and T. Giilard (skip.), while the final of the progressive pairs was won bv L. Cole and T. A. Colson, who defeated W. Darrall and J. Sanders, 4—2.
