SUGGESTIONS TO MINISTER [BV TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Tuesday The Otago provincial council of "the Farmers' Union to-day passed a resolution noting the assurance given by the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. J. G. Barclay, that labour would be made available for sowing crops and harvesting, but pointing out that many crops had been lost this season because men had been ordered to camp in' the middle of harvesting, and that shearing had been disorganised for a similar reason. ' "At present," continued the resolution, "farmers requiring men for harvesting have to apply for their own men, regardless of whether these men are in camp in North Auckland or otherwise. It ap pears absurd that men should be brought from North Auckland for a few weeks' harvesting in Otago, when several hundred experienced farmers k as*o in camp tyijacent Jo Dunedin."
