Mr. L. J Stevens left for Wellington last night. Mr. J. Tyler, city engineer, left for Wellington yesterday atternoon.Captain S. E. A. Gregory, shore superintendent of the Port Line i a Wellington, is at the Station Hotel Mr. C. M TurrelL general manager and director of the New Zealand Ship, ping Company, Limited, arrived from Wellington yesterday, and will leave for the south to-night.

E., *ho is now serving with the forces. Mr. W. E. Monk, assistant manager of the Auckland branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, hag been appointed chief accountmt of the bank in Wellington. He will be si#, ceeded by Mr. H. W. Whyte. at present attached to the general managers office. The Hon. P. C. Webb. Minister of r.abour. arrived from the south yesterday, and i.s at the Mation Hotel. He will spend about a week in Auckland, the principal purpose of this trip being to visit various industries and inspect progress made. He attended a meeting of the Onehunga Labour Representation Committee last night.
