OBITUARY
! MR. H. L. HUGHES The death has occurred of Mr. Harold Lancelot Hughes, of 7 Tawa Road, Onehunga, aged 53 years. Born in Auckland, he was a son of Ahe iate Mr. Albert Hughes, owner of one of the first factories in Onehunga, and a well-known racehorse owner. Mr. Hughes, as a young man, was a prominent runner, and later played Rugby football, representing Parnell for some years. Subsequently he interested himself in League football, being a selector for Manukau, and later a referee. Mr. Hughes, who was employed by tne Railway Department at Onehunga, was for many years a member of the Foresters' Lodge. He is survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters. There are two grandchildren
