TROTTING CLUB APPEAL
SERVICE OF SECRETARY J ADJOURNMENT UNTIL APRIL A decision to adjourn the case until t the first sitting in April has been given r by the Auckland Area Manpower Com- > mittee in the appeal by the Auckland Trotting Club for the postponement of . service of its secretary, Alfred Eraest - Forrest, for at least- 12 months. The » case was heard on November 7 and a decision was then reserved. 5 In evidence before the committer, the 7 president of the club, Mr. E. G. . Bridgens, stressed the difficulties which 3 would be met if the reservist was called . for military duties immediately. It was t also pointed out during the hearing that the reservist was grade 3 and _ would not be called in a combatant I capacity, but for camp duties in New Zealand only. The reservist did not j appeal and it was stated he was quite prepared to go into camp. } In giving its decision the' committee J instructed the club to make every en--5 deavour to train or find a substitute I for the reservist before the case was f reconsidered in April.
