FEDERAL UNION

Some of the economic aspects of international co-operation in post-war settlement were outlined by Mr. H. R. Rodwell at a luncheon talk on the Federal Union movement to members of the women's committee in the Milne and Clioyce Reception Hall yesterday. Mrs. Hugh Duthie, convener of the committee, presided. Mr. Rodwell outlined the fundamental changes that had taken place in the last 20 years, indicating the trend toward a national development. The two main reasons at the root of this development, he said, were the population trend and the changes in the structure of industry. The speaker explained the significant economic effects of these changes and outlined the lactors which led to the depression of 1931. In conclusion, Mr. Rodwell gave logical reasons why Federal Union was the only system by which could be arrived at a operation between the democratic countries of the world.
