MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE
WOMAN REMANDED (0.C.) CHRISTCHTJRCH, Tuesday A woman aged 26, whose name was suppressed, appealed before Mr. H. A. Young, S.M., charged that, by an omission without lawful excuse to perform a legal duty, she caused the death of her infant child, thereby committing manslaughter. A remand was granted until December 4. "The circumstances of this charge art' fairly exceptional," said the magistrate. "There was a special reason for bringing you before the Court on warrant, but there is no need to worry." Bail was allowed in the accused's recognisance of £SO.
