282,700 MOTOR VEHICLES

TOTAL REGISTRATIONS [BY TET.EGBAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Sunday The Postmaster-General, the Hon. PC. Webb, stated to-day that at September 30 last 282.700 motor vehicles had been licensed for the current year. This represents an increase of 0683, or 2.05 per cent, over the number licensed at the corresponding date late year. The number of cars licensed, 198,44 , represents an increase of 2219, or 1.1 [xt cent, over last year's figures. Commercial vehicle licences, 70,489, are higher by 3889, or 4.84 per cent. Motorcycle licences. 13.763, show a decline of 425, or 3 per cent.
