GIFTS FOR SOLDIERS

AMERICAN GENEROSITY A further donation of £3OO has been received from the Anzac War Relief Fund of_ New York by the secretary of the National Patriotic Fund Board, Mr. G. A. Hayden. The donation is to provide Christmas hampers for members of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. The latest gift is made up of contributions from the New York. Chicago and Pacific Coast divisions of the Anzac fund. It was stated that 600 parcels, were being forwarded to the Middle East as a result of this gift. These contain handkerchiefs, razor blades, writing paper and envelopes, shaving soap, dentifrice, condensed milk, canned pears, oysters, aspirin and chewing gum. _ United States citizens have already given 25 ambulances, a mobile dental unit, medical equipment, cigarettes, books and magazines, as well as £ISOO toward the furnishing of the New Zealand Club in Cairo.
