BEAUTY AND THE BLOT

An act which won for Mr. H. L. Massev, president of the New Zealand Institute of Architects, the admiration of the whole School of Architecture, was described by Professor C. R. Knight at the opening of the students' exhibition of work yesterday. He said that Mr. Massey, who had served several times as an examiner and a lecturer, once went into a room just as a student, with a cry of horror, dropped a big blot of ink on some work. Without further ado Mr. Massey grasped a brush and converted the blot into a beautiful tree.
