BUSINESS MAN'S DEATH

MR. JOSEPH CATCHPOLE The dentil has occurred of Mr. Joseph Catchpole, at his residence, 62 St. Mary's Road, Ponsonby, in his 90th year. Mr. Catchpole conducted a furnishing business in Karangahape Road for many years. He later joined Pukemiro Collieries, Limited, and was chairman of directors for 23 years. He also was managing director of Pukemiro Land Company, Limited, for a similar period. Since 1891 he had taken a keen interest in Freemasonry, under the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. He was also well known for his many benefactions. On attaining his 83rd birthday Mr. Catchpole retired. He leaves "a family of two sons and three daughters, all nu.rried and residents of Auckland. Thera are seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
