TERRITORIAL CADRES

FURTHER ARRANGEMENTS Further arrangements for the institution of the new cadre system for the Territorial Force have been made by Northern Military District headquarters. In November unit commanders of the forces affected will attend the newly-established command and staff college at Palmerston North, and officers commanding artillery batteries, mounted rifles squadrons and infantry companies who are included in the cadres will go to the district army school at Narrow Neck. Cadre instructors will he with their units during November and December at the Ngaruawahia, Avondale, Rotorua and Whangarei camps. Camps nre as follows:—Whangarei: Signals officers and personnel of artillery, mounted rifles and infantry units; officers and personnel of medium machine-gun and mortar sections of mounted rifles and infantry. Rotorua: Mechanical transport and motor-cycle officers of artillery, mounted rifles and infantry. Ngaruawahia: Officers commanding artillery sections, mounted rifles troops and infantry platoons; non-commissioned officers of the same branches. Avondale: Quartermasters, cooks and clerks of artillery, mounted rifles and infantry. ANNUAL CAMPS FIXED THE DATES FOR NEXT YEAR Provisional dates have been arranged for the annual camps of Northern Military District Territorial Force units. It 'will be the first time that territorials have gone into camp tor two months for their annual training, this being distinct from the three months' intensive recruit training instituted last, year and carried out by all territorials on entry to the Army.
