A CAMERA EPISODE

Sir, —Tdle curiosity, with suspicion combined, prompted me to stop and speak to a couple of .Japanese whom I saw taking photographs in Albert Park last Friday morning. This they resented. So I followed them down Wellesley Street and there consulted a policeman, but he informed me he had no authority to do anything in matter, and so the episode had to lapse. Someone suggested to ine "they could not do much harm." Possibly not, but they could from where thev were secure a good photograph of Rutland Street Headquarters. When are we going to face up to things seriously? Kxtreine vigilance is needful these days—our casualty lists should prompt this. There is too much at stake to take any risks. HKRUEKT F. Cuandall
