SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION TRIAL OF ONE-DAY MATCHES Following a lengthy discussion, a decision that a trial of one-day games be given for the first round was made at a meeting of the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association last night. The chairman, Mr. ,1. F. W. Dickson, supported the recommendation from the annual meeting that, owing to war conditions, a change in the playing of matches was necessary. Mr. S. Learning (Manukau) said that his club now supported one-day fixtures, but would not agree to a time limit being placed on batting. Mr. A. Pearson expressed the opinion that the question of one-day games should be reviewed at the end of the first round. The chairman supported this view. Air. J. Elliott said the Air Force could only enter its team if the competition was restricted to ong-day cricket, and it wan most desirable to retain the Air Force club. The question of allocating championship points was decided as follows:—Outright win, 10 points; win on first innings, 0 points; tie, 1 points; draw, 3 points; loss on first innings, 1 point; default, O points. On the motion of Mr. A. C.
