WHEY BUTTER OUTPUT
SALE IN DOMINION Whey butter is to be released for use in New Zealand from this morning, in order to dispose of the quantity which will be manufactured in New Zealand during the present year, according to a statement made yesterday by Mr. A. H. Honeyficld. manager of the Interna! Marketing Division in Auckland. The price is to be Is 3d per lb., against the present Is 6d for creamery butter. Owing to the fact that wliev butter deteriorates quicker than creamery butter, it is not desirable to purchase heavier quantities than are required for use within a reasonable time, said Mr. Honeyficld. Undoubtedly large quantities would be used, for cooking, and the public would also find that the butter was of a quality suitable for table purposes. The incroaso of cheese requirements in Britain this year would result in the amount of whey butter being in excess of anything previously produced in New Zealand, be said. As the British .authorities bad indicated that whey butter would not be shipped this year, the total manufactures would be absorbed for culinary and other purposes within New Zealand.
