SEPTEMBER WEATHER

NO SUNLESS DAYS The rainfall last month was below tho average for September, according to records supplied by Mr. S. M. Yallop. Government observer. The total was 3.14 inches, compared with tiie average of fl.Qpin.. and although rain fell on 12 days, no day was without sunshine. There was only one heavy fall of rain, which occurred on the 12th, when 1.48 in. was recorded. Temperatures during the month were changeable, ranging from 67.8 degrees to 42.3 degrees, with a mean of 52.39 degrees. Barometer readings on the whole were regular and for tho last two weeks, excluding yesterday, the barometric pressure remained over 30.00 in. The lowest reading was 29.564 in. on the 13th. and the maximum 30.574 in. on the 2nd. The mean for the month was 30.136.. Total sunshine was 206 hours 6 minutes, the maximum for one day being 11 hours 24 minutes yesterday. Winds in September were very variable and chiefly light, while many fine days wore accompanied by cold winds. Denwas recorded on 14 days and fog on two days.

HAMILTON, Tuesday The rainfall in Hamilton during September was less than the average, 3.34 in. being recorded, as against 4.02 m., the average for the month.
