THE NEW ZEALAND GESTAPO
Sir, —It is about time someone kicked over the traces, and it delights me to see the doctors, probably the most intelligent body in the community, refuse to bo bludgeoned into socialism. Governments should represent the whole of the people; not one section with spoils for the victors. We should be governed by trained experts, not by inexperienced ex-secretaries of trade unions with not too much ability, who endeavour to force their wild visionary schemes on to a helpless public. Surely they do not imagine they can tear to pieces a social economy which has been built up by trial and error over a period of 2000 years, and replace it with a ready-made concoction of theories. .Moreover, how can they enforce il except by a swarm of officials daily becoming more numerous and menacing private life? Where will it end? Or.i) Pionkkk.
