TROUT-FISHING SEASON

AUCKLAND START TO-DAY The trout-fishing season in the Auckland and other acclimatisation districts, except Rotor na and Taupo, will open to-day. Reports received in Auckland indicate that good conditions generally should prevail. Indications are promising for good fishing in Arapuni Lake, and. although a certain amount of water ahout the power-house and dam lias been placed out of bounds by the military authorities, there is still good fishing between Arapuni and Horahora and hopeful reports have been received of the prospects in this stretch of the river. The season in the Rotorua and Taupo districts is expected to start on November 1.
