TERMITE CONTROL
WORST CENTRES IN CITY The belief that what appeared to he the worst centres of termite infestation in Auckland City were being brought under control was expressed by the city engineer, Mr. .J. Tyler, in a report to the City Council last night giving particulars of inspections made up to July 11 under the Termites Act, 10-10. The report stated that 762 properties had been inspected. Fifty-nine properties and .11 street poles had been found to be infested with Australian termites, and native termites had been found on 280 properties. Infestation by Australian termites was present on 7 percent of the properties inspected, Mr. Tyler added, and there was every reason to believe that the figure would be substantially improved in future.
