RETURN MATCH WANTED SOUTH AUCKLAND'S REQUEST WIN FOR POINT CHEVALIER Tho growing interest in the senior grade championship was Tcferred to at last evening's meeting by Mr, G. Grey Campbell, chairman of tho Auckland Rugby League. Ho said several (cams lower in the competition were improving and there was every reason to expect surprises. A further request for a return game against Auckland was made by the South Auckland League, which wished t-o know the «arlient date the fixture could be played. Several delegates, supported by Auckland clubs, stated that tho match could not bo played on a Saturday, until tho championship was decided. On the motion of Mr. J. Clarke, it was decided to defer finality until later in the second round. . . Arrangements in connection with the visit of tho Newton Club to play a game at Stratford on Saturday week were finalised. Mr. J. A. Mackinnon was appointed manager. Xn connection with the draw for tho senior matches on Saturday it was resolved to play the Papakura and Newton game at Garlaw Park No. 2 at 1.15 p.m. instead of at Papakura, as previously arranged. _ , Mr. E. Chapman, chairman of the Junior Control Board, mentioned that the fifth grado championship had been won by Point Chevalier for the first time in the clubs history. A high standard of football had been maintained, and it was decided to congratulate the club on its success. E. Abbott, a former member of the Richmond senior team, was transferred to Ellerslio and granted a regrading to senior B. lne following new registrations of senior grade players were approvedW. Major, M. Thompson, J. Gregory (Manukau); W. N. C. Craig (Richmond): M. Smythe (Mount Albert) ; E. G. Wood (Marist); J. H. Corbett (Citv) The New Zealand Council advised the transfer of G. 0. Leahy from the St, George Club, Wellington, to Northcote.
