Monday The supplies of cabbages available from Pukckohe growers became shorter owing to cold weather, but the demand continued heavy, with the result that the price rose from 4s a Chapman bag to Os Od during last week, while to-day it had reached 7s Od, with the growers right up on cutting in an endeavour to keep pace with orders. Cauliflowers were also rather short to-day, hut a warm, soaking rain over the past two days will probably mean larger supplies as the week advances. The price remains at last Monday's figure, 13s a Chapman bag. Pukckohe onions continue at 33s per cwt., witu the market, very firm. Pumpkins, which were 7s (id per cwt a week ago, are now lis. Some local table potatoes are coming forward. These bring Its per cwt. S<cd potatoes are in short supply and bring 8s to 13s per cwt.. according to simple. Parsnips were at 7s a sugar bag to-day, which is a rise of Od since last Monday. Carrots remain at 4s and beetroot and swedes at ss. Cabbage, cauliflower and lettuce plants continue to bring 12s Od a thousand in bundles of 25, and onions plants Os a thousand in bundles of 100. Good yearling barberry plants were being quoted to-day at 25s Od a thousand in packages of 100.
