CONSERVING NEWSPRINT
NO NEW PUBLICATIONS [by telkgr.m'tt—rnEss association] ELLINGTON, Thursday Regulations designed to conserve the use of newsprint in New Zealand have been issued with to-night's Gazette. These regulations are a corollary to the recent Newspaper Proprietors' Association's announcement of a reduction in the consumption of newsprint of from 45 to 50 per cent on the 1938 basis. The regulations provide that no new publications will bo permitted except with the consent of the factory controller, and they also make other stipulations logarding the use of newsprint, ensuring that conservation will be effected.
