PATRIOTIC APPEAL
FIGHTERS' MOTHER FUND A total of £10.167 12s 9d has now been collected in the Fighters'.Mother Appeal which is being conducted in Auckland. The total aimed at in the metropolitan area is £127,000, and the competition is proceeding keenly, drapery and boots (group 7) being in the lead with £9032 tq its credit. The positions of the groups in the competition yesterday were:—Drapery and boots (<)> £9032; lighting services and Public Service (0), £8338; transport and public bodies (5), £6620; tood and liquor (4), £6158; professional and arts and crafts (3), £ 1161; motion pictures and entertainment (2), £2910; building trades (1). £2355.
