75 GIFT AMBULANCES
FIVE MOBILE CANTEENS NEW YORK ANZAC FUND [BY TETiEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] \YELLTNGTON, Thursday Five ambulances which the Anzno War Relief Fund in New York is presenting; to the Army Department for use iu New Zealand through the National Patriotic Fund Board are expected in Wellington shortly. Already the fund has shipped 10 ambulances for service with the New Zealand forces in the Middle East and is sending five more there. The Australian forces are also receiving ambulances from the fund, which, when all are delivered, will have provided 7o ambulances for use by the Australian and New Zealand forces. The funds for these ambulances were raised through co-operation with the British American Ambulance Corps. The Anzac War Relief Fund has also undertaken to supply the New Zealand forces overseas with five mobile canteens. The organisation has also generously supplemented in other directions the work being done by the National Patriotic Fund Board and provincial patriotic councils, ft has made available £ISOO for furnishing the New Zealand Forces Club in Cairo, another £2OOO, including an amount for expenditure on gift parcels, and recently it sent to New Zealand three and a-half gross dental impression trays for the Dental Corps. A letter received from the chairman of the fund, Mr. Alick McLean, gives particulars of large quantities of cigarettes which arc to be shipped to the Australian and New Zealand forces overseas.
