HOUSES AT TE MP A FARLAND AND MERRY VAALS MANY JUMPERS IN ACTION (0.C.) HAMILTON, Thursday After an early morning fog, the weather cleared to-day and all work at Te Rapa was carried out in brilliant sunshine. The going on the course proper, over 70ft. out from the rails, was dead, but in good winter order. The best gallops were those of Farland and Merry Yauls, while Wiklore shaped well over a round. , R. Dulieu arrived from New Plymouth yeslerday with Tidewaiter and Trig Station. It. S. Bagb.v arrived this morning with Mnkoi, Lap Up and Ptrthnx. The other three members of Bagby's team to compete at the meeting, Silver Quex, Don Quex and Stratford, are due to-morrow. Other arrivals include E. Knapp with Bridegroom and Kiotous and P. Johnson with Aussie Ha.

Donegal (MeKen/.ie) traversed the final seven furlongs of his work in 1.30. moving with freedom. This member of «E F. Tutehen's stable is in good, hard condition. The best five furlongs of the morning was that in which Farland (Brown) and Merry Vitals (C. B. Ooulsbro) finished on terms, clear of (lay Rosette (Elisor), in 1.0. Both Farland and Merry Vaals are in good order. Kespeetful (Brown) showed to advantage in accounting for Marshal llall (Sinton) over live furlongs in 1.7, This time was equalled by Circular Note. Bamboo (MeInallv) was doing better than Vaalsniae (Brown) to record 1.8 -l-.'i. Orient Dawn (C. Jj. Ooulsbro) and Successful (C. B. C.ouls'oro) took l.io. Foxsen (McKenziej, with the assistance of Marble Fox (Long), could have improved on her 1.8 1-5. Royal Jay (Gilmer). Eslro (C. L. Ooulsbro) and Cheque Day recorded 1.10. There was little between Laughing Fox (Hain) and Joy Vaals (Brown) in 1.8 :V.*>. Tjaughing Fox looks well. Paso Robles required l.ti I-". for a like task. Wiklore ((,'. B. Goulsbro) and Aguilo (Hain) were associated over a round, being joined by Miss Eureka (Elisor) over the last six furlongs. Miss Eureka led the others and maintained her early advantage. They ran the round in 'J.7 and the last six furlongs in 1 .'Jo -l-.V

Arctic Dawn (Caddy) and Lockheed (0. B. Goulsbro) came home from the sevenfurlong post in I t-."i, the first half-mile being cut out in "il s. Both did their work pleasingly. The two-vear-old Silver Note (Elisor) was clear of Solitary (Long) over half a mile in Is. Glenbevan (Elisor) and Hunter's Xight (McKenzie) registered .Vis. I'reklaw (McKenzie). Black Musk (Long) and Streamline (Caddy) hit out over a round in 2.11. Sun Boy (Maria) finished in front of Mio Generale (Melnally) in 2.11 •!-•». Miss Bridge and Raceline negotiated a round in •2.18 1-5.

Tidewaiter (Ritchie) and All Irish (Walters) were associated over a round of the schooling hurdles and gave a sound exhibition.

Dark Rose (C. L. Goulsbro). Gar Vaals (Ritchie) and Baldric (Walters) were companions over a round of the steeplechase country, taking' nine fences. Starting at the hencoop, they kept fairly well together and gave a Rood display. Bridegroom (Winder) and Riotous (Brady) were schooled over three fences, the hencoop and double in front of the stands. Riotous out.jumped his companion at each fence. Brifcnt Idea, Dozie Boy (Gilmer), Gaine's Choice (Meßae), Ruling Star (Hayes) and Surpeen (McGregor) set off over a round of the country, beginning at the brush leading out of the straight. After jumping six fences, Bright Idea, Gaine's Choice and Ruling Star failed to enter the gap leading on to the new steeplechase fences in front of the stands, but they were brought back and negotiated the fences safely. Dozie Boy fell coming to the hencoop, and Surpeen, who was following closely, stumbled over him. Air Commodore (Brady), after scrambling over the hencoop, refused the first fence of the double.

Makoi (Ritchie) and Floodlight (Winder) gave a good exhibition over a round of the steeplechase fences, their jumping improving as they went. In a similar essay, Lap Up (Winder) and Pertinax also gave a sound display.
