(0.C.) HAMILTON", Thursday A tribute was paid to the Maoris 0 f the district, who had contributed £IOOO to the society's funds, at the annual meeting of the Waikato centre of the Red Cross Society. It was stated that the centre had been instrumental in raising £IO,OOO for patriotic purposes during the year. There were now 30 sub-centres in the Waikato, with a membership of nearly 8000. Mr. A. E. Gibbons was elected president, and Mr. A. C. Ward secretary.
