CLIPPER DELAYED
MINOR MECHANICAL FAULT A minor mechanical fault resulted in the American Clipper of Pan American Airways being delayed at Noumea yesterday. The machine was expected at Auckland yesterday afternoon, but is now scheduled to arrive this afternoon. A defect in a fitting in the steering post in the pilots' control-cabin was detected on Saturday. Ground staff worked to remedy the fault yesterday, and it was*expected that a test flight would be made before the journey to Auckland was resumed this morning.
