MRS. MOLESWORTH'S DEATH
A notable member of the Maori race, Mrs. Louisa Maewa Molesworth, Tahuna Pa, near Wniubu, died in the Auckland Hospital yesterday, aged Mrs. Molesworth was a daughter of the late Mr. W. Flavell, of Waipipi, ana traced her descent from leading famines of both the Ngapuhi and Waikato tribes. As a young woman she married ths late -Mr. Henare Kaihau, who represented the Western Maori electorate i Parliament from 1896 to 1911. Kaihau died in 1920. and she late married Mr. C. lv Molesworth, Waiuku, who survives her. Always $ terested in the arts and lore of * ie people, Mrs Molesworth collected man legends and songs, and wrote ana conposed several Maori songs wfii attained wide popularity. . , ' Mrs. Molesworth is also surviveo two sons and two daughters, funeral will take place on Tuesday. Tahuna Pa. Preparations for a h are being made, and it is expected will bo a lnrge attendance.
