NO. 13 SCHEME WORKERS Largo transfers of men from the Xo. 13 relief scheme to private employment have been taking place. This week over 60 men left subsidised work with local bodies rind were given employment us builders' labourers and with a number of factories. The movement of men from subsidised work is due chiefly to scarcities of labour developing because of enlistments and military service obligations. Not long ago the State Placement Service combed the ranks of No. HI scheme workers because of tho need for men on farms. Large numbers were placed with farmers and those who remained were required to show good cause why they should not go into the country. Belief workers now on the scheme are practically nil married moil with families.
