CAR STRIKES POLE
TWO MEN SERIOUSLY HURT Two persons suffered serious injuries necessitating their removal to hospital as a result of a motor-car accident on the waterfront road near the airways building, soon after 2 a.m. yesterday. The injured were 6. Delaney, aged 17, a labourer, of 12 Cobden Street, Newton, who received internal injuries and concussion, and Mr. W. Taylor, aged 22, also a labourer, of the same address,, who suffered a fracture of the skull, a shoulder injury, and lacerations to the head. The car, which was bei'lg driven toward the city from Mission Bay, hit a telegraph pole and was extensively damaged. The driver, F. Williams, aged 18, of 7 Neals Avenue, City, escaped with a minor injury. The two injured men were taken to the Auckland Hospital and their con-, dition last night, was serious.
