PROBLEM AT PTJKEKOHE TWO CALLS AT SAME TIME [from our own correspondent] PTJKEKOHE, Friday When two alarms of fire were sounded in Pukekohe to-night the volunteer brigade was forced to leave one unattended as it was already occupied in quelling an outbreak. The brigade was called to Mr. I). Soars' residence in Harris Street at about 8.30 p.m. and found the back portion burning'strongly. The lire siren sounded again shortly afterward as the result of a message from a farm at Paerata, three and a-half miles from Pukekohe, where a haystack waff in flames. The brigade was unable to respond, but extinguished the flames at Mr. Scars' house in about 40 minutes. Two rooms and a wash-house were destroyed. Mr. and Mrs. Sears were absent on holiday in Napier and the house was unoccupied.
