CHIEF SCOUT'S FUNERAL

FULL MILITARY HONOURS ABBEY BURIAL OFFERED LONDON, Jan. 9 The body of the late Lord BadenPowell was buried at Nveri, Kenya, with military honours in keeping with the rank of Lieutenant-Genera!. The. casket was carried on a gun-carriage, over which the Union Jack and a scout hat lay. The British Government offered a burial at Westminster Abbey, but the remains will stay at Nyeri until after the war.

Fraser, sent the following cablegram to Lady Baden-Powell, widow of Lord Baden-Powell: —"On behalf of the Government and people of New Zealand, I extend a message of deepest sympathy in the sad loss you and your family have sustained.
