THREAT OF BLINDNESS
MR. DE VALERA'S OPERATION (Received December '_>!>, 5,:?5 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 27 The eye operation on the Prime Minister of l'.ire, Mr. I'.amon de Yalera. on December 18, was undertaken in order to prevent total blindness, and enable him to read his broadcast to the United States yesterday. \\ hen he entered a nursing home he was able haltingly to read only large type.
