AUCKLAND'S SUCCESS MATCH AT WELLINGTON HOME TEAM BEATEN OUTRIGHT [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] WELLINGTON, Friday The inter-provincial cricket match between Auckland and Wellington, scheduled for four days, terminated before lunch in victory for Auckland by eight wickets. Requiring only 72 in the second innings for an outright victory, Auckland soon secured the. runs this morning. Whitelaw (5) and Burgess (5) resumed Auckland's second innings, and when the total was 28 Whitelaw was caught by Norris, off Parsloe. Burgess and Scott carried the score to 67 in a bright partnership, before the former also was caught by Norris, off Wilson. Pearson joined Scott, who hit the winning; run. The early finish of the came was unfortunate for Wellington from the financial aspect also, because the visit of the Auckland eleven had created a good deal of interest and a bis gate was expected on Saturday afternoon.
