PARTY OVERDUE
WAITAKERE TRAMPERS YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN SOME ANXIETY FELT Some anxiety was felt last night by relatives and the police about the whereabouts of a party of trampers who left for the Waitakere ranges yesterday morning. The party is believed to consist of about half a dozen young men and women, who left by car at about 10 o'clock, but nothing is known of the exact district to which they were going. I'p till 1 a.m. this morning nothing more had been heard of them by the relatives of at least two of the party. The police were advised shortly after 11 o'clock last night by Miss 1). Tarrant, of 17 Milton Road, Mount Eden, that her sister. Miss Nita Tarrant, iijjed 18. had left to meet a car driven by Dr. Mill MeDougall. of 117 Kliyber Pass, at the top of Symonds Street. Miss Tarrant said she believed Mr. Keith Mayhill, thought to live at IC> Prospect Terrace, was also a member of the party. An hour later Mr. Thomas Dudley Savage, of 89 Landscape Road, Mount Eden, advised that his daughter. Miss June Savage, aged 18, had also left at about 10 a.m. to join a party of girl rangers going to the Waitakere ranges. In neither case had anything been heard of the girl.
