CHANGES ANNOUNCED
THE AUCKLAND DISTRICT PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS A number of promotions and transfers affecting the Auckland police district were announced on Saturday. They include the appointment of an extra senior-sergeant at the Auckland central station, and a sergeant who will take charge at Mount Albert. The following appointments have been made Constable D. J- 0 Carroll, transferred from Devonport to Dunedin as sectional sergeant; Detective L. Wilson, transferred to the _ uniform branch and promoted to sectional sergeant at Christchurcli; Sergeant H. Sargent, transferred from Auckland to Hamilton; Sergeant G. H. L. Holt, transferred from Auckland to Nelson; Sergeant W. J. Iv. Brown, transferred from Auckland to Wanganui. Sergeant F. C. Harrison, of Thames, promoted to senior-sergeant and- transferred to Auckland central; Constable J. J. McCann, transferred from Mount Albert to Gonville; Constable M. E. Parker, transferred from Te Aroha to Auckland as sectional sergeant; Constable R. Griffith, transferred from Kaitaia to Auckland as sectional sergeant; Constable G. E. King, transferred from Frankton Junction to* Auckland as sectional sergeant; Sergeant J. Scarry, transferred from New Plymouth to Mount Albert as sergeant in charge; Sergeant C. Murphy, transferred from Palmerston North to Thames. _ • In the Hamilton area changes include the transfer of Sergeant I). Austin from Hamilton to Tauranga, where he will be in charge, and Sergeant J. Edwards, of Tauranga, has been promoted to seniorsergeant and transferred to Hawera. Sergeant T. Campagnolo, of Te Kuiti, who has been transferred to Wellington, has been promoted to senior-sergeant. Sergeant R. Lean, of Nelson, succeeds him.
