Marjorie and Kia Ora were caught down to leeward when the wind changed, but were not far behind Aileen. Marjorie improved her position oil the run to Hough Rock, where the boats were in oiose order. Endeavour still had the lead, with Caress in fourth position. Marjorie and Kia Ora stood into Cheltenham Beach and xot the advantage of the sweep of the incoming tide.
