TWO BRASS CANNON
RELICS OF OLD SAMOA [from our OWN correspondent] APIA. Doc. r> An interesting relic of old Samoa lias turned up in the shape of two brass cannon. The guns, which are 7lt, long with a fin. bore, weigh nearly a ton They are of solid brass and bear the casting date of lfWl. A ship which carried four of theso (rims wont ashore on the east coast near the village of Solosolo and became a total wreck. The guns were salvaged among other fittings and have lain in the villogo ever since. They are in a splendid state of preservation and are particularly valuable at the present time, when there is a shortage of this class of metal.
