FUTURE OF BELLE CANE MAY RACE IN AUCKLAND Although Belle Cane did not win the New Zealand Derby, she was by general consent acclaimed the best three-year-old at the Canterbury meeting. It is stated that she would have raced in the Metropolitan Handicap if the ground had not been so hard. Belle Cane is in the A.B.C. Railway Handicap field and she may do her next racing at Ellerslie. However, her lessees, Messrs. T. J. and P. A. O'Neill, have still bigger plans for her, and she Ls to be nominated for im portant events in Australia in the autumn, and, all going well, she will do most, if not all, of her future racing in the Commonwealth, where she is owned by Mr. >W.-J Smith, to whom she will revert .next June, unless the lease is renewed. She does not appear to be entered for the remaining Australian classics, although her stable-mate, Sir Beau, is entered. AUSTRALIA'S GAIN YOUNG ENGLISH STALLIONS England's Glory, one of the more promising three-year-olds of the year in the Old Country, has been sold by Lord Glanely to Mr. George Ridgway, Perth, West Australia. Bred on solid staying lines this chestnutson of Singapore and the Yorkshire Oaks winner, Glorious Devon, was in reserve for the long-distance events of normal seasons, but the obscurity of the outloof for further racing induced Lord Glanely to part with him after ho had won the Sunningdale Stakes, IVi miles, at Windsor, just before the cessation of racing. ■ Another young racehorse being sent out to Australia. Titan, is a son of Hyperion and the National Breeders' Produce Stakes winner Priscilla, by Phalaris. He has been sold by Lord Itosebery to Mr. F. W. Hughes, Melbourne. Titan won the Ham Stakes last season, and this year he ran second to His Highness in the Empire Cup at Newbury. He is the first of the 6tock of Hyperion to be exported to Australia. NOVICES AT NAPIER CENTENNIAL JUST WINS Although Battlegain looked all over a winner 60yds off the post in the Novice Stakes at Greenmeadows, Centennial, ridden by N. Howard, flashed up .with a brilliant hurst of speed to win going away by a long neck. Centennial was slow in finding his feet, but he secured a good run on the rails across the top and cume out to snatch victory in the last few strides. Centennial, who is by Mimctift from Threadless, is owned and trained by H. J. Mullool.v> at Gisborno. RAN TRUE TO FORM VICTORY OF GRAND CHASE Running true to the good form he showed al Trentlmm Inmonth. Grand Chase finished brilliantly to win the Taradale Handicap in a great finish at the Napier Park meeting. lie was well back until half a furlong from home, where lie shot through Iho bunch to join Lady Ex, Silverhope and Sunny Knight in a desperate finish. Grand Chase won narrowly, but be was most impressive. A long neck would have covered the first four horses, for the judge was unable to separate Silverhope from the pacemaker, Sunny Knight, while Lady Ex, who had actually hit the front inside the distance after wide out all the way, was a short nose further back. Grand- Chase is a three-year-old colt by Hunting Song from Unreasonable. TURF JOTTINGS TRACK AND STABLE GOSSIP The Dozer was withdrawn from the Alison Cup at 8.30 p.m. yesterday. Sunola, who competed at the Waikato meeting last Saturday, was not brought back to Takanini by F. Smith, the Lord Quex gelding having been transferred to J. F. Tutchen's .stable at Te I.'a pa. Sen law was taken to Te Rapa, but was not raced, a filled joint which became evident on tho morning of the races necessitating his withdrawal, and it appears tinlikely that ho will appear at tho Auckland meeting. The -Auckland district committee yesterday nftornoon heard the appeal of the jockey F. Cleaver against- tho suspension of two months imposed on him by the -judicial committee of the Avondalo Jockey Club for alleged interference to three horses in the Juvenile Handicap on November 0. Tho appeal was dismissed. RIDERS FOR LEVIN T?iding engagements for the Levin Racing Club's meeting, to be held on Saturday, have been nnnounred as under:— B. H. Morris, Princess Merling; D.
