CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING
Morrlnavllle Club. —Conditions were ideal when, to further the candidature of the Morrinsville Central Queen, Mrs. J. M. Allen, the Morrinsville Gun Club staged a successful clay-bird shoot. The amount realised was approximately £3O. Results were:—Five-bird eye-opener: A. Webster (17yds), R. Farrow (17yds), and E. Allison (13yds), each shot five birds and divided the stake. Five-bird sweepstake: A. Aitkcn (17yds) and E. Green (18yds) each shot five birds and divided the slake. Trophy shoot of ten birds: R. Farrow (17yds) shot (he possible and won the first trophy and first money; L. Mahcr (20yds). A. Webster (17yds), E. Allison (18yds) and T. W. Elliott (17yds), each shot nine birds, and in the shoot-off the second trophy was won by Elliott.. Trophy shoot of ten birds: E. Allison (13yds) and E. Green (ISyds) each shot ten birds, Allison winning the shoot-off for first trophy and first money. Turkey shoot of five birds: W. J. Aitkcn (15yds), L. Mahcr (20yds), J. Dobson (10yds), and A. Aitkcn (17yds), each shot five birds. Mahcr winning the turkey on the thirteenth bird. Ten-bird match: J. McMullan (10yds), E. Allison .(13yds), and W. Brinkworth (17yds). shot the possible. Allison winning the trophy on the seventeenth bird. Trophy shoot of ten birds: K. Farrow (17yds), E. Allison (13yds), and E. Duncan (14yds) each shot nine birds, Allison winning the trophy on the .twentieth bird in the shootoff. Farrow being second and Duncan third. Gimcrack of seven birds: J. Fausctt (11 -23 yds), W. Sharp. (12-2lyds), W. Farrow (13-23 yds). and J. MrMullan (16-26 yds) each shot six birds and divided the stake. Box shoot of five bird,s (all off 24yds): L. Mnhor nnd J. McMullan shot the possible and divided the stake * money.
