TRIAL COPRA SHIPMENT

A trial shipment of about 100 short tons of copra is to be landed in Auckland shortly, according to advice issued by the Auckland District Council of Primary Production. The possibility of copra being used on a large scale for fattening pigs in New Zenland, owing to the shortage of other foods, has recently attracted widespread attention from farming organisations. A number of experiments have already been made. Owing to the war, the normal markets for copra from the Pacific Islands have been lost, and it is now available at a low price.
