CENTENNIAL GATHERING
[FROM OUR own correspondent] THAMES, Monday The New Zealand Centennial was celebrated at Thames on Satuiday when a well-attended function wns held at the Qigli School grounds. A grand parade of uniformed units ot various organisations and services, to iT othcr with school children, headed bv the. Hauraki Regimental Band from the military camp at Je Aroha. During the afternoon displays of drill, marching and folk dancing Were given by the pupils of the iaiious district schools. . Brief addresses were given »y the Mavor, Mr. S. Elisor, .-and Mr. -J. Thorn, Al.L'/; for Thames. Pioneers who had been .specially invited to nttcm wore entertained to a- Centennial afternoon tea.
