ARRIVAL OF TWEED 11. Two sales of thoroughbreds were reported yesterdn.u, Trip •Station, winner of the Army Handicap at Te Rap,a on Saturday, whs sold b.v .\fr. ,T. C. Gerrand prior to the running of.(lie Waikato Hack Cup to Mr. A. Lylc, New Plymouth, whoso colours the Surveyor gelding carried into tliird place In the latter race. The sale was effected through the agency of Wright, Stephenson and Company, Limited, who have also sold on account of Mr. K. Austin, ICaiapoi, the two-year-old colt by Foxbridtfo from Lovo Story, by ]?omeo, to the Hon Eliot JR. Davis. The English stallion Tweed IT. arrived at Auckland yesterday morning on consignment to Mr. W. Hoskiiifr, Wainkn. Tweed IT. is a brown horse of medium size and nice balance, with a good, strong head, and altogether a pleasing individual. ITe is by the French sire Hotweed, who won over 2,000,000 francs, and is half-brother to the Ascot Gold Vaso winner Foxglove 11.
