"MERRIE ENGLAND"
CONCLUSION OF SEASON The final performance of Edward German's coinic opera "Memo. England," given by the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday night before a crowded audience, was a fitting close to a most successful season. .At the conclusion coloured streamers formed a canopy from the auditorium to the stage, and bouquets and other gifts were handed across the footlights to every performer. The choruses "Yeomen of England" and "There'll Always be an England" sung by the company and the audience provided a stirring finale.
