TEMPERANCE WORK
CENTENNIAL PAGEANT DISPLAY AT TOWN HALL A centennial temperance pageant was held in tho Town Hall on Saturday night. It was arranged by the Now Zealand Allianco, the Women's Christian Temperance Union and the Auckland Council of Temperance Education. Physical displays were given by the Girls' Life Brigade, the Y.M.C.A, and Y.W.C.A.; demonstrations of fencing and archery were given by tho Y.W.C.A.; orchestral items by the Technical College orchestra; and vocal items by the St. Andrew's boy choristers. Tableaux and drills were presented by the West Street Sunday School and tlie Grange Home Girls, while tho Maori race was represented by the Kurahina Maori Girls' School. The Newton Citadel Band gave several items, including "There'll Always bo au England."
