FACTORY EXPLOSION
AMERICAN CHEMICAL PLANT (Received October (>, (5.30 p.m.) NEW YORK. Oct, 5 Three explosions in the Commercial Solvent Company's chemical plant at Tone Haute, Indiana, shook the city. Six tank cars loaded with alcohol, near the blazing building, could not be removed owing to the heat. Further explosions are feared 011 the 20-acre factory section, which is checkered with tanks of chemicals. At least one person was trapped and is believed to have been killed. Nine others escaped. The explosion wrecked the company's main building. Officials believe that it was accidental.
